The Foundation
Health and Education for Colombia is a general interest foundation and its purpose is to raise funds to support higher education programs in Colombia and medical assistance plans, maintaining its focus on children and youth.
Health and Education for Colombia was recognized by the IRS as a 501(c) organization. This means that any donations you make may be deducted for your income tax purposes, in the form, terms and conditions set forth by the United States Tax Law.

Mission
We all want to make a difference and Health and Education for Colombia exists to make that possible.
When living outside of Colombia, many of us want to help, lend a hand and somehow, contribute. It is not always easy and there are also many dishonest people who take advantage of this will to collaborate in order to divert funds or even worse, embezzle resources that good people send as donations.
Health and Education for Colombia seeks to become an entity that makes a difference in supporting young people who have the ability and the desire to succeed and who only need a lever to move the world. We want to be that lever.
Vision
The key difference of Health and Education for Colombia is that every dollar you donate is a dollar that will reach its final destination in Colombia. The Members of the Board of Directors use their own money to pay for operational expenses as well as trips to Colombia.
At a practical level, Health and Education for Colombia assesses and evaluates entities that could potentially receive such donations, as well as the specific programs that would be benefited and participates in setting the criteria that will determine who will access aid for education or health.
All this enables us to ensure that donations are fully used and applied to the intended purpose. We monitor results during project implementation and we publish this information on our webpage so that anybody can access it.
Allies
Our objective is to reach more people and for that, we work with other Private Foundations, educational and health entities, who are selected based on the criteria that they cover the population most in need and based on the premise that each person must contribute to their own comprehensive development.
We have established a cooperation agreement with FUNDACION ORIGEN, an institution dedicated to prepare a new generation of leaders in Colombia. We share the view that education is the key to a less violent and more prosperous society. They are trying to create these leaders at all levels and in all places of Colombia. Their work constitutes not only a valuable social investment but also a natural complement to the activities of Health and Education for Colombia.
